After your visit to Abilene Express ER, we will submit two insurance claims to your health insurance provider. The first health insurance claim will be from your emergency physician at Express ER that provided the medical care. The second is from our facility which you were seen at and will encompass all of the care received, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, cultures and more.
Once the insurance claims have been submitted to your insurance company, you will receive an explanation of benefits that explains the charges from Express ER. Your explanation of benefits may also itemize the copay, deductible, any co-insurance, and even payment responsibility.
Express ER in Abilene, TX does not practice “balance billing”, meaning we will not bill above what your insurance provider’s in-network allowable is for your medical care. Once your explanation of benefits has been processed, an invoice will be issued to you notifying you of any outstanding balance that may be due. If you have questions regarding your invoice, please contact Express ER, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
